Native tree. New leaves emerge as bronze-purple, turning glossy green with age. Clear yellow to red fall color. Clusters of small white flowers in spring. Edible magenta to purple-black berries in late summer which attract birds. Smooth gray bark. Upright, vase shaped habit.
