Blooms on old wood. Prune as needed after flowering. Easily grown in well drained soils, but place in a sheltered location with winter protection. Large, arching flower panicles in June through July, which gradually fade to pink, and then brown by late summer. Oak-like leave turn shades of bronze, maroon and purple in fall.
