Hydrangea (Hydrangea) anomala petiolaris (Climbing Hydrangea)

Excellent clinging vine for covering stone walls, arbors, trees, etc. Needs some sort of support. Glossy, dark green leaves. Flattened clusters of fragrant, white, lace-cap configured flowers in late spring to early summer. Best grown in well drained soil in part shade to full shade. Slower to establish, but quite vigorous thereafter.

Vigorous, hardy hydrangea with massive 12″ blooms – all season long. The blooms emerge lime green, changing to pure snowy white and fade to green. Blooms on old wood. Prune as needed after flowering. Easily grown in well drained soils, but place in a sheltered location with winter protection. Large, arching flower panicles in June through July, which gradually fade to pink, and then brown by late summer. Oak-like leave turn shades of bronze, maroon and purple in fall.
