Thuja (Arborvitae) Thuja occidentalis 'Congabe' (Fire Chief™ Globe Arborvitae)

A nearly perfectly globe-shaped shrub with fine, bright gold spring foliage and fantastic deep red fall color. This sport of the popular Rheingold has deeper color and is less prone to splitting. A slow growing, low maintenance evergreen perfect for massing in a landscape foundation or as a rock garden specimen.

Technito® has attractive dark green color that holds equally well through winter. This selection is quite dense, and a great improvement on other Arborvitae because it requires less shearing than others. Technito forms a compact pyramidal outline.

Bred through the National Arboretum’s breeding program. Pyramidal shape. Tolerant of a wide variety of soils and hardy to Zone 5. Excellent as an evergreen screen, hedge or a single specimen. Virtually maintenance free, as well as pest and disease-resistant. Deer grazing does not appear to be a problem.

Thuja (Arborvitae) occidentalis 'Smaragd' (Emerald Green Arborvitae)

From Denmark. Glossy, emerald green foliage in flat sprays. Compact pyramidal form. Holds color well through winter. Easily grown, tolerating a wide range of soils. Periodic, deep watering is advisable during periods of hot, dry weather. Prune early in the spring before start of new growth. Good as a specimen or hedge.

Dense, dark green, heavy textured foliage. Holds it’s color throughout summer and winter. Broad based with an upright- pyramidal shape. Holds its shape with minimum trimming. One of the most adaptable and hardy of the upright evergreens.
