Penstemon (Beard-Tongue) digitalis 'Husker Red' (Husker Red Beard-Tongue)

A clump-forming perennial featuring white, tubular flowers on upright, rigid stems from April through June. Lance-shaped, maroon leaves. 1996 PPA Plant of the Year. No serious insect or disease problems, but can suffer from root rot in wet, poorly-drained soils. Mass in a sunny border, or use in pots or containers for texture.
