Back in 1990 Roger received a call from the city looking for a big honeylocust. Mayor Daley wanted to plant one right in Daley Plaza so he could see it every day. We got out the trencher and dug an Skyline Honeylocust with a 7-8′ ball right out of our entrance. When we were done the ball weighed around 11,000 pounds.
As you can see in the photo below, the ball is an old fashioned drum laced ball so a lot of work went into the entire package. We can’t remember how big the hole was but you can see how big it was in the photo below!
